Collection: Recreate The Look | The Still Life Cabinet

Love the traditional, hand painted look of The Still Life Cabinet?

This makeover was inspired by the beautiful MINT by Michelle "Still Life" decoupage paper and the feel of an old oil painting. I paired it with Annie Sloan Athenian Black Chalk Paint, deliberately keeping some of the brush strokes and texture in the painted finish to complement the artwork.

Rather than worrying about a few small creases in the decoupage paper, I embraced them too. After sealing the paper with Polyvine, I used Annie Sloan Black Wax over the piece to deepen the black and highlight some of those little imperfections, giving everything a more aged, classic feel.
