There are many benefits to using Wise Owl Furniture Salve. In this article I'm going to tell you why you need to have Wise Owl Furniture Salve in you furniture painting kit!
Wise Owl's philosophy is to bring you premium products that don't pose harm to health or the environment. Furniture Salve is no exception! Made from a base of hemp and coconut oils with a blend of three natural waxes and scented with essential oils there is nothing harmful in its formula. Furniture waxes and polishes often contain fillers and solvents but you won't find them here!
The gorgeous scents range from fresh, summery and citrus to light feminine bouquets to deep masculine scents reminiscent of aftershave. These scents really do add an extra dimension to your furniture and enhances the customers experience. A real must have if you sell high end pieces or are looking to up your furniture painting game.
But what do you use it for?
Well I use it on every piece that I paint.
Inside Furniture
Whilst older furniture is built to last and the result of quality craftsmanship there are some downsides. Old furniture is often stored in garages and shed where they can become damp and musty. The wood can soak up smells which can be tough to get rid of. Salve will not just cover up the smell but will help to eliminate it. Its anti-fungal, antibacterial properties will kill mildew, fungus and bacterial that cause odour. Just clean then apply the salve!
I paint a lot of chests of drawers and my drawers get salved inside and out. Not only will the salve get rid of the musty smells it will help the drawers to glide effortlessly protecting the runners, reviving and restoring the old finish and offering a layer of protection.
To apply use on of Wise Owl's PREMIUM WAX BRUSHES, leave it to soak in for 20 minutes then buff off!
To Polish Metal Handles
Wise Owl Furniture Salve is great for polishing metal. Be it handles or hinges just get some salve on a cloth and give them a clean up!
To Revive Leather
Whether is a pair of leather shoes, your sofa or the leather insert in a writing desk Wise Owl Furniture Salve is the perfect product to restore it!
Leather can dry out over time and this all natural product will rejuvenate it and leave it smelling great - like a day at the spa!
Apply using a soft rag, leave to soak in then buff off.
To Seal Chalk Paint
You can use Wise Owl Salve instead of traditional waxes to seal Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis Paint. It is especially good for dark colours, enriching and adding depth to deep navy and rich blacks.
Apply then buff off. If it is patchy then add a second coat. As the furniture salve is free from solvents it can take a day or two to dry. Just keep buffing to help it along. Cure time is 28 days.
Over Bare Wood or Existing Finishes
Wise Owl Salve will revive imperfections in existing finishes and help to make them less visible. Use instead of traditional furniture polishes.
You can also use over bare wood, enhancing to grain with the nourishing oils whilst the waxes will offer that layer of protection.
But it doesn't stop there...
It makes a great cleaner for stainless steel appliances, my husband even uses it to polish up the interior of his van!
Gentle enough to be used on skin whilst you are working away on your furniture you hands will get a good moisturise too!
