Annie Sloan Techniques Workshop
This class is hosted by Rebecca Wilmer, a furniture artist with many years experience and trained by Annie Sloan herself!
In this 3 hour class Rebecca will start by talking to you about the environmental benefits of upcycling furniture and how to prepare different pieces of furniture for painting.
You'll be provided with a sample board and all the materials that you need on the day. You will experiment on the sample board with layering, brush techniques, colour combinations, white washing, texture and frottage.
You will then experiment with distressing using different grades of sandpaper and finish your boards by sealing the paint with wax. You will use different coloured waxes to create different effects and enhance the texture of the paint.
Annie Sloan's books and magazines will be available for you to look through and draw inspiration from.
If there is a particular technique that you are keen to learn please just let us know and we will try to incorporate it in to the class. As this is a creative class we will just go with the flow on the day so no two classes will be alike. You will learn at least 5 different paint techniques.
You will go away with your sample board and the knowledge to use the techniques you've learnt on your own furniture and craft projects.
Any paint and products that you purchase on the day to take home will benefit from a 10% discount.
