Furniture Painting Workshop - Bring your own piece
Date: Saturday 10th September
Time: 11:30am - 5:30pm (approx)
Have you always thought about painting your own furniture but didn’t know where to start?
On this workshop you will learn all of the basics by working on your own small piece from start to finish.
Places are limited for 4 on this workshop and is for adults only. If you do have a young person who would like to attend then send me a message and I will do my best to accommodate you.
What to bring…
This is a ‘bring your own piece’ workshop. You’ll need to bring a piece that you can carry easily!
This could be a bedside table, a side table or wooden dining chair for example.
This will ensure you’ll get the piece finished in the day. Anything too big and we won’t get through all the steps!
Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. Bring and apron if you have one but keep in mind if you do get paint on your clothes it is unlikely it will wash out.
Arrive at 11.30am for hot coffee and delicious pastries. By 12 noon you’ll have settled in and be ready to start!
I will walk you through, step by step, how to clean, prep and sand your piece ready for painting. I’ll talk about different degreasers, sand papers and which paint and brush to choose and why.
Once prepped you will get the first coat of paint on before breaking for lunch a well earned lunch provided by Bake and Roast.
Lunch is a choice of sandwich and cake. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available throughout the day.
After lunch you will get the second coat of paint on and finish your piece. Any paint left over in your pot will be yours to take away. I will talk you through top coats and waxes to best protect your piece.
During the afternoon there will be the opportunity to ask questions and I will demonstrate some different techniques and products you can use to embellish your piece.
You are welcome to purchase any paints, brushes and embellishments on the day to take away with you at a discount of 10%.
The workshop will be held at Thirteen Furniture & Home Decor, 29 Church Road, Smithills, Bolton, BL1 6HE.
(The shop will be closed whilst workshops are running so you have my full attention on the day.)
Once you purchase your place on the workshop I will contact you for a photo of your piece so I know that it is suitable.
Pease don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.
I look forward to seeing you there!
